Bioinks Commercialization Accelerates: Policy Tailwinds Unlock Billion-Dollar
Bioinks, as key raw materials for bioprinting, are undergoing a critical phase transition from technical validation to clinical translation. In 2025, China's bioink market reached RMB 1.28 billion, a year-on-year increase of 24.3%, significantly outpacing the overall 16.7% average growth rate of medical device new materials during the same period.
Key drivers include the release of the "Guidelines for the Registration and Review of Bioprinted Tissue Engineering Products" by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA), which clarified the classification and evaluation pathways for bioinks, and the approval of the first domestic registration certificate for a cartilage repair scaffold based on sodium alginate-gelatin composite bioink, marking the completion of a closed-loop validation for domestic material systems from laboratory to clinical applications.
In terms of enterprise landscape, Hangzhou Jetnovation Biotechnology Co., Ltd. led the market with a 21.4% share, with its independently developed GelMA-PEGDA dual-network ink entering the NMPA's special review program for innovative medical devices. Guangzhou Medprin Regenerative Medical Technologies Co., Ltd. and Shenzhen Lando Biomaterials Co., Ltd. ranked second and third, with market shares of 17.8% and 12.3%, respectively.
